EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN USING 3RD PARTY SOFTWARE, VENDORS, AND CONSULTANTS.  

​All policy and enforcement decisions concerning the regulation of campaign finance is the ultimate responsibility of the Registry.  ​

Furthermore, the only method for filing campaign finance reports is through the Registry's election finance management system, which is provided free of charge to all candidates.  3rd parties do not have the ability to download your records directly into the Registry's filing system, regardless of what they might claim.  Using 3rd party vendors for this purpose will result in errors in your reports.  DO NOT SHARE YOUR LOG IN INFORMATION WITH 3rd PARTIES! 

Any questions regarding the application of Kentucky's campaign finance law or the filing of campaign finance reports should be directed to the Registry.  DO NOT RELY ON 3rd PARTIES.  The Registry's staff is here to assist you and answer all questions.
ATTENTION - All 2026 General Election Candidates

The current reporting period for the 2026 general election ends September 4, 2026.  If you are a candidate with a spending intent of over $5,000, your 60-day Pre-General Election Reports must be electronically filed with the Registry no later than 11:59 p.m. on September 16, 2026. 

If you also filed for the primary, your report must cover your general election campaign activity from May 20, 2026, through September 4, 2026.  

If the office you are running for in the general election did not require you to file for the primary, then your report must cover your general election campaign activity from the time you filed through September 4, 2026.

Next Registry Board Meeting

​The next meeting of the Board of the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Registry's office at 140 Walnut Street, Frankfort, KY 40601.  The meeting agenda will be forthcoming.

Advisory Opinion Request

​​The Registry is currently accepting written comments through September 11​, 2026, from any interested party pertaining to the following advisory opinion request: 2026-003 Request.  Comments should be mailed to the Registry at 140 Walnut Street, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601, or emailed to KREFRequests@ky.gov.​​
