Election Finance Training Seminars

Greetings! On behalf of the Members of the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance, it is my pleasure to invite you to attend one of the upcoming Election Finance Training Seminars. These training opportunities are designed to educate and train candidates on Kentucky’s campaign finance laws. The seminars provide a great forum for questions and will equip a candidate to run an effective and successful campaign. Our staff has worked hard to provide an informative top notch program. Registry members and staff look forward to meeting you in this setting!

ELECTION FINANCE TRAINING SEMINARS

The Election Finance Training Seminars will bring candidates and their campaign staffs up-to-date on campaign finance laws and help them understand what is statutorily required. At the seminars candidates and their treasurers will learn:

  • Essential elements of the campaign finance laws
    Duties and responsibilities of a well organized campaign
  • How to recognize and report a contribution
    Expenditures that are allowed and those that are not allowed
  • How to complete the campaign finance reporting form

The Election Finance Training Seminars provide answers to questions such as:

  • How much money can an individual contribute to my campaign?
  • Is the money I put in my campaign account considered a contribution or a
    loan?
  • What is an in-kind contribution and how is it reported?
  • How will the FREE electronic filing software assist with filing my campaign finance statements?
  • What does the disclaimer on advertising need to say?

Approval of this course has been requested for:

  • Continuing Legal Education (CLEs) for attorneys
  • Continuing Professional Education (CPEs) for Certified Public Accountants
  • Continuing Professional Units (CPUs) for qualifying local elected officials
